The fool strikes again

Wednesday Aug 11th 2004

I, being the fool that I am, bought a new car several years ago and have been making payments on it a long time, something like 3 years now. I consider anyone who buys a car and cannot pay it off in 2 years a fool (including myself).

But anyway, I will be doing a foolish (depending on your point of view) move again. There is currently a few bucks left that I owe on the car. I have some money in the bank and am going to pay off the car entirely as soon as I get my next check next week (not this week).

This could be a foolish move or a very smart one. I will be severely depleting my savings to pay this darn thing off. On the bright side, there will be no more car payments, and all the money I would be sending to car payments I can now keep to myself. Correction: I can pay off my credit card, and then keep the cash to myself. (grin)
