Site changed… yet again (groan)

After a dissatisfying experience with the other software I was using, I’ve changed over to MoveableType. So far it’s pretty cool. A lot of the “pro” sites use this and are happy with it.

Anyway - this stock template will most likely go away soon (in favor of the cool black template I just made), so watch for it. (grin)

Site done.. for now

Well.. I finished up the template for MoveableType to look like the old site, mostly.. The Board is down until I reinstall it. To date - this is probably been the most effort I’ve put into blog software for this site. Eesh. It’s tedious, but well worth it when it’s done.

The archive pages and other stuff will be update when I get around to it. :-)

Sickness taking its toll

I still got a case of the sniffles - but I am feeling far better than I did two days ago. A co-worker was nice enough to give me a few MotrinIB’s to get me through the day.

I believe my cold is at the end of it’s strain because my nose is itchy. Whenever my nose gets itchy, I know I am at the end of a cold. :-) Sounds weird but it’s true.

Every time I think I’m getting over this cold, I’m not. Today I wake up and I’m sick as a dog… again. I just don’t get it. Gonna have to hit the local pharmacy and get me some Sudafed.

Feeling better (for now)

A friend recommended that I try Advil Cold & Sinus so I picked up some today. Does it work? Yes it does. I won’t claim it’s a cure-all, but, my cold is much more tolerable now. I will definitely take one of these before I head out to work tommorrow.

Finally laid down the boom

With some sadness - and maybe a little bit of regret, I have officially “closed” my business for the time being. I’ve wrote about it here before, but being that I was changing blog softwares almost weekly (due to one reason or another), my thoughts got “lost in the stack” so to speak, so… I figured I’d write about it again. It’s good reading, anyway. At least for me. :-)

For the last year-and-a-half, I was running the biz full time. Technically, the biz was in operations for 5 years, but I gave it my first big push (as in tried to make a living off of it) 1.5 years ago. Sadly, I have to give it up for the time being because the bills needed to be paid - and a job opportunity came my way that I just couldn’t pass up.

As a whole, being a biz owner was positive. Even with all the crap involved with being a biz owner, I would do it again in a heartbeat, provided I could make a good living doing it. (grin) That’s the kicker.

RMA’s are a-comin’

I just received word (last night but called today to confirm,) that NewEgg.com will be shipping me my replacement parts for the dead motherboard and AMD chip I received. Good deal. I hopefully will have all my parts by the end of the week. Looking forward to it (for real - this who ordeal with defective parts has been ticking me off something fierce).

Template going to change

I think I might change the template of this site again. The black-site thing is cool, but, it’s harder to read. White text on a black background makes text “glow” too much.. and it’s starting to get on my nerves a bit.

So… look for a new look in the next few days (or whenever I get around to it). (grin)

Great drive home today

What a great drive from work to home today. I got to open up the moonroof and trot along at a leisurely 60mph along I-395. This is the normal speed I drive on the interstate, mostly to save fuel, but today it was because I wanted to cruise. And yeah, cars are whizzing by me at 70+ (sometimes 80+) but you know, I don’t care. What’s the rush? It’s a great day outside. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a moonroof or a convertible. You should take it easy sometimes, so you can notice what’s around you instead of what’s in front of you.
